Soylent Pink

70 Percent of Ground Beef at Supermarkets Contains ‘Pink Slime’

An unlabeled, untraceable blend of connective tissue and fatty sweepings from the slaughterhouse floor (previously deemed unsuitable for human consumption, sold only as dog food) is now being sprayed with ammonium hydroxide (in an attempt to kill the potentially deadly E. coli O157:H7 pathogen)  and put into everything from frozen patties, burritos & pizzas and used as a filler in “fresh” ground beef in many grocer’s display cases.

ABC News has more on this shocking story..

The “pink slime” does not have to appear on the label because, over objections of its own scientists, USDA officials (JoAnn Smith, Bush ’41) with links to the beef industry said “it’s pink, therefore it’s meat.”

Even if you believe that “pink slime” (what the industry calls “lean finely textured beef“) that is sold to you as fresh ground beef is safe to eat, it is not “fresh ground beef”.  It is consumer fraud.

Take a minute to listen what Michael Pollan has to say on the subject..

Incredibly, it doesn’t end there.  Even though “pink slime” doesn’t meet the standards of McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Burger King (all of whom stopped using the product late last year), the USDA has reportedly seen fit to dump another 7 millions pounds of the stuff into the mouths of schoolchildren, without the knowledge or permission of their parents.  As if they’re not sick enough already.

Are you mad yet?  What are you going to do about it?

  1. America needs to awaken before rigor mortis from physical atrophy, mental apathy and spiritual apostasy toe tags all of us!
Do not eat anything that is pink especially ground meat….the other day I bought veal steaks and the edge had the inspectors bluish purple seal on the meat the clerk grabbed it and sent it the butcher in a panic I was puzzled and when I realize they did not know it was the approval stamp!

  2. Seventy percent of US hamburger contains up to 25% per pound of “pink slime” which consists of the slaughterhouse floor wastes treated with ammonia and water to kill E. coli and Salmonella bacteria.

The problem is, ammonia does NOT inactivate mad cow prions which may be part of the ankle-deep muck of blood, fats, tissue and scraps on the floor:

Slaughterhouses are required to remove “SRM” – specified risk materials- the parts of a cow with the highest concentrations of prions. SRM include the skull, brain, ganglia, eyes, tonsils, spinal cord and small intestine. Power tools, including chain saws, are used to cut up the carcasses.. It is unavoidable that potentially prion infected wastes from high risk tissues end up on the blood-soaked slaughterhouse floors – to be incorporated into the pink slime.

    Alzheimer’s is a prion disease – 6 million US victims. http://www.alzheimers-prions.com/ .

Pink slime is a likely pathway to deliver infectious prions to an unsuspecting public, including school children at risk for autism which is approaching epidemic proportions.. The Prion Institute in Alberta, Canada, is studying Autism as a prion disease
