Buyer beware a lot of local farmers in the SE USA are very large farms and sell both locally and commercially. It is harder to find “real” local a farmer with a vegetable stand in the front yard.

Wow, that’s really sad. Our Austin markets are all juried, inspected and certified organic (or follow “beyond organic” practices). No resellers are allowed and everything must be produced within a 150 mile radius.
